Should a card be read on its own?
Rarely. A single card sets a theme, but what was drawn beside it, and the question you asked, decide most of the reading. A spread is closer to one sentence than a list of separate meanings.
Does a reversed card mean the opposite?
Not usually. A reversal tends to soften, delay or turn a card inward rather than flip it. What it means depends on the card and on everything around it.
Can tarot tell me what will happen?
Nothing here is predictive. A reading describes what a spread tends to be working through given the question you brought to it. The decision stays yours.
